History of Department

The department was established in the year 1982 with UG classes in the Allied stream. Now the department offered PG,M.Phil and Ph.D in the self-financing stream.

Objectives
  • 1. To encourage Mathematics research and publications in the accredited scientific publications.
  • 2. To encourage follow up of latest scientific research and techniques in the field.
  • 3. To upgrade performance and standards in the field of mathematics in order to be a leading department in the District and State.
  • 4. To collaborate with the local community to stimulate interest in mathematics and in the allied activities.
  • 5. To attend and organize regional national/international conference.
  • 6. To support to gain membership in national and international mathematics organizations.

The Department of Mathematics aspires to be nationally recognized for academic excellence through the depth of its teaching and research, and to be locally relevant through its role in the development of the community it serves.

Mission

The Department strives to offer the student academics challenges along with support to help them succeed in their academic and social life. It encourages them to develop problem-solving abilities which transcend the confines of the field mathematics and enables them to become life-long learners, to continue to grow in their chosen professions, and to function as productive citizens. We, the staff and students, collaborate with local community organizations, with professional associations, and with other campus entities and individuals.
